As Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Karnataka State and Disability Forum, I had many opportunities to interact with Ms. Rama Chari and Diversity & Equal Opportunity Centre (DEOC). It was a pleasure working with them and very many times, it was an educational experience for me in the field of disability. Ms. Rama Chari brought out a lot of professionalism in whatever work we were doing for persons with disability.
The publication, "A Values Route to Business Success" brought out by CII with DEOC has become a "must read" manual on how and why of employing persons with disability. DEOC with professionals from inside and outside, brought out a very well researched book which is helping many companies with regard to employment of persons with disability.
It is not very often one comes across organisations like DEOC and I consider myself fortunate to have interacted with them many times.

MphasiS has been working with DEOC since its inception in July 2007. The USP of DEOC is its team of committed, dedicated and solution-oriented professionals who are thorough with disability issues and national and international best practices. We have learnt quite a lot from DEOC. It is thanks to DEOC's Project Communicate that MphasiS was able to increase the number of employees with disabilities, could do skill mapping and accordingly place candidates with right skills in various jobs across MphasiS. The partnership of MphasiS and DEOC continues even after the end of the project. We keep going back to DEOC for any issues related to inclusion and diversity related to persons with disabilities.
